Delete a Profile and Reassign Users

 

When a profile is deleted any users in that profile must be assigned to a different profile in the application.  If you delete a profile the application will take you through the process of reassigning the users to a new profile.

 

Permissions are required to work in the Setup.

 

When users are reassigned to a new profile, they then will have all the permissions for the new profile.  If the new, assigned profile has different permissions than the old one, this may affect what the users can see and do in the application.  Make sure that the new profile will provide all the necessary functionality for the users before deleting the old profile.

 

Delete a Profile and Reassign Users

 

From the application Setup > Company Setup > Security, click on Profiles.

  1. Select the Region or Location from the list.

  2. Click on the row of the profile that you want to delete.  Do not click on the profile name itself.

  3. Click the Delete button.  Confirm that you want to delete the profile.

  4. If the profile has users, assign the users to a new profile.  You can assign all the users to one profile and / or select profiles individually for each user.

  5.  

     

  6. Click OK to complete reassigning any users and delete the profile.  Click Cancel to stop the profile deletion.
