Menu Setup Overview

 Application creation and the number of applications that can be created depend on the license.

You can create your own application suites inside the PerfectMind framework.  An application suite is a collection of PerfectMind services and custom objects that are grouped together as a functional unit and made available to users or administrators..  

Permissions are required to work in the Setup.

Application Suites - Users

Why create an application suite?  An application is simply a collection of objects, services, and functions that are grouped together for a common purpose or function.  This allows you to create functional units and assign them to specific user profiles.  One way to think of an application suite would be to think of a large collection of tools (objects, services), and an application suite would be a toolbox filled with the specific tools needed to perform a particular job such as plumbing, electrical work, roofing, and so on.  In PerfectMind you could create a sales application that can track leads, opportunities, sales, and provide reports on those activities.  A marketing application could be used to create and track campaigns.  An accounting application could deal with billing, invoices, and payroll.  A customer service application could deal with appointments, event planning, billing customers, and sales to customers. And everyone would have access to the appropriate customer and account information that they needed, along with reports tailored to their needs.    An application is a defined set of functionality that allows people to do their job.  The best part is that you get to define that functionality to meet your needs.  PerfectMind includes powerful services such as reporting, a planner, billing, campaigns, and more, that you can simply add in and use.

Applications can share functionality.  So applications for sales, customer service, and accounting could all use the reports service, but billing might be restricted to the accounting application.

Setup Suites - Administrators

PerfectMind administrators are in charge of the set up and configuration of PerfectMind, and will probably also be responsible for installing, configuring, and setting up any applications and services included with or added to your PerfectMind configuration.  Since there can be many different objects and services involved, a Setup Suite allows the administrator to  add objects and services to an application, which gives them quick and easy access to all the configuration information and settings that they need.

Global Menu Setup

The Global Menu allows you to add certain functions and virtual code elements to the main menu, making them easily available in the application.  The user no longer has to open specific applications or objects to use that code and those functions.
