The information on this tab is used to name and identify the custom object, both for the user working with the object, and internally for the PerfectMind application.
Permissions are required to work with custom objects.
Singular Name: The name for one of the object, such as Invoice, Customer, or Account.
Plural Name: The name for many of the object, such as Invoices, Customers, or Accounts.
Object Name: This must be unique, and can not have the same name as any other customer objects.
Description: A brief description of the objects purpose and function.
Record Name: A unique name for the object stored in the PerfectMind database.
ID Type: Select whether you want a text or numeric Id for the object in the PerfectMind database. If you select Text you will have to enter a unique name, or text, for each object you create.
If you select Auto Number, the application will automatically create a unique Id number. You can enter a Display Format for the Id number to specify how it will appear. To format the Auto Number enter the starting number for the Id number. PerfectMind will then start number objects from that number. This is useful if you wish a certain Id number to also represent a group of related objects, e.g. all Id numbers in the 10000+ range represent Sales, all in the 20000+ represent Marketing, etc. See: Custom Field Properties for details on formatting Auto Number fields.
